Open Water!

The ice is melting rapidly now.  You can see open water in the middle of Lake Kegonsa.

Having made a decent advance onto shore, the melting ice has the fragile consistency of peanut brittle

Even with that much open water and the ice clearly melting, someone still went out on the ice to ice fish.

It looks like Wisconsin gets its share of snow and ice. Nice photograph.

I love how it just piles up on the shore. It’s like some ice queen has arrived and her mark has been left in her wake.

Whoa! No ice like peanut brittle on this side of Lake Mendota. It does look like winter, doesn’t it? Even with that open water.

As for the ice anglers? Crazy, some people are, about their fresh fish!
