Spring Flooding

Wetlands flood first as can be seen in these photos of the beaver habitat.

Most of the geese who, a few days ago, had been nesting or preparing to nest have been displaced.

With the ground still frozen a couple feet beneath the surface, melting snow and rainwater run into low-lying areas.

Only a few of the dozens of geese remain.
