Bryan/Harris H-18-LK-G Sailplane

If powered flight doesn’t seem dangerous enough, you could always try gliding.

Built for one, this engineless plane would be the closest thing to soaring like a bird.

Constructed from metal and foam, the light-weight design attempts to bring safety to powerless flight.

This Bryan/Harris HP-18 is one beautiful bird!!! Although I realize that it is important to have a quality homebuilt sailplane in the museum, it is a shame that someone isn’t enjoying the pleasure of flying it.

I love my old HP-14 (http://tinyurl.com/N990-6F); however, the extra performance of a HP-18 would be nice.

These photos are from a private museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Last year at the air show one of the afternoon flights was a jet powered glider. He could fly with the jet on or he could turn it off and glide like a sailplane. I’ll try to post photos of it. Glad you enjoyed these and thank you for commenting.
