Somebody’s Watching Me

During the weekend while I got used to how the ducks around the lake would react to my presence – scattering; the presence of a Muskrat – scattering; the presence of the eagles flying in and out of their nest – scattering.  I got that feeling.  When I’m in a park or in the woods hiking I always dismiss it as giving into childish fears, but the feeling wouldn’t go away, probably because the sun hadn’t risen yet and the long shadows cast by the very early morning light added to the creepiness.  When I finally looked I noticed the source and quickly popped a picture.  The light wasn’t very good and the shot is somewhat grainy, but it made me chuckle then and it makes me chuckle now.

The deer reacted when it realized I had noticed it by running away, and as I watched her run through the marsh, I noticed other whitetails scattering as she ran.
